Female Sexual Problems

When sexual problems occur, what goes on behind closed doors can sometimes begin to cause multiple issues in a person’s life. The best course of action is to see your doctor right away. Don’t be embarrassed, doctors are trained to deal with these situations.

Sexual Problems Can Stem From;

  • Sexually transmitted diseases: A sexually transmitted disease such as; chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea, herpes and genital warts can cause painful or uncomfortable sex due to changes that take place in the genitals.
  • Emotional problems: Depression, anxiety, stress or guilt can cause sexual problems. Emotional problems sometimes prevent communication issues between sex partners.
  • Pelvic disorders: Caused by gynecological problems can inflict pain or discomfort during intercourse.
  • Vaginal dryness: Is typically connected to hormone issues, illnesses or maybe medications. In some cases insufficient stimulation is the cause.
  • Vaginitis: Can cause painful or uncomfortable sex as it’s related to the irritation of vaginal tissues resulting from infection or other causes.
  • Physical or medical conditions: Fatigue, cancer, diabetes, kidney disease, blood flow issues, menopause, pregnancy and many other physical conditions may decrease sexual pleasure.
  • Physical abuse: Feelings of guilt, fear or resentment may prevent a person from becoming aroused if they suffered physical abuse in the past. Trust issues may also be present.

Treatment for sexual problems.

The treatment for a sexual problem depends on what’s causing the issue. Before a diagnosis can be obtained, the doctor will likely do a series of tests and exams. Sometimes treatment can be as simple as taking a warm bath to relax before sex.

Talking to your doctor.

It’s important that you are honest with your doctor and that you explain every detail you are having issues with. Sometimes writing things down can help. Talking to your doctor is important. You need to remember that doctors are medical professionals and they are not going to judge or make fun of you. Their ultimate goal is to help you with your sexual issues.
